Completion: within a “reasonable” timeframe — usually no more than 28 days

Although Awaab’s Law specifically applies to social landlords, private landlords and homeowners are expected to meet similar standards under Section 11 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985 and the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS).
This means local authorities can still take enforcement action if damp and mould are left untreated, regardless of property ownership type.
