Why Do Old Houses Get Damp After Being Empty?

You've viewed an older property that's been empty for several months.

The heating has been switched off, the windows have remained closed and nobody has been living there.

When you walk through the door, the house feels cold, damp and musty.

Perhaps there's condensation on the windows, mould behind furniture or damp-looking patches that weren't previously noticeable.
